Shugan Yiyang Capsule is effective for treating erectile dysfunction, but only for functional erectile dysfunction or mild arteriogenic erectile dysfunction caused by liver depression with kidney deficiency, or liver depression with kidney deficiency combined with blood stasis syndrome.
Shugan Yiyang Capsule is composed of traditional Chinese herbs such as earthworm, leech, cistanche, dodder seed, morinda root, tribulus terrestris, bupleurum root, and honeycomb. It functions to soothe the liver and relieve depression (by regulating liver qi to treat depressive disorders), promote blood circulation, and tonify the kidneys.
Although this medication can treat erectile dysfunction, it is not effective for all types. It is primarily suitable for functional erectile dysfunction or mild arteriogenic erectile dysfunction caused by liver depression with kidney deficiency, or liver depression with kidney deficiency combined with blood stasis syndrome.
Shugan Yiyang Capsule is contraindicated for patients with hemorrhagic diseases. During treatment, other medications should be discontinued, excessive smoking and alcohol consumption must be avoided, and all forms of severe mental stimulation should be prevented. Additionally, medication should be stopped during episodes of the common cold.
